Service Leadership is a deep dive into the essence of hospitality, designed for professionals in upmarket hotels and resorts. Participants explore perspectives and practices which enrich the work experience for front line staff and elevate the quality of service for guests.
In general, service improvement training aims at drilling standards and instilling specific behaviours, with the intention of achieving consistency. Unfortunately, this approach tends to put the focus on service delivery, which easily leads to robotic and unfulfilling service. For people operating primarily in a mode of service delivery, work becomes draining, “difficult” guests are resented, and burnout is endemic.
Service Leadership takes a more holistic and uplifting approach, empowering individuals to connect with guests, match their specific needs and find fulfillment in service. This has proven highly impactful in a wide variety of hospitality settings, including 5-Star hotels and Michelin Star restaurants.
By participating in this course, service leaders become much more effective at engaging and influencing others. The results include better performance, higher morale, and a greater sense of ease in the workplace. Service Leadership benefits leaders at all levels, from supervisor to vice president. To maximize impact and application, the course is generally presented over three days, with a week or more between each 1-day module. An abbreviated 1-day workshop is also available, focusing on the core of authentic hospitality.

High Impact Leadership (3 days)
Make Better Decisions, Achieve Better Results
A leader’s effectiveness is assessed according to three key factors: the decisions they make, the results they accomplish, and the relationships they develop with their colleagues. This course enriches each of these elements, enabling participants to bring out the best in themselves and others.
Premise: Our success, both as individuals and leaders, largely depends on our ability to think clearly and discern wise choices. When clear-thinking leaders collaborate effectively, positive outcomes are assured. Conversely, the main cause of errors, problems, and strained relationships lies in the poor choices people make under the influence of unclear thinking.
Individuals juggling numerous responsibilities can easily become distracted and overwhelmed, leading to a decrease in mental sharpness. As their clarity of thought diminishes, they become susceptible to making misguided decisions, resulting in unfavorable outcomes. Unfortunately, individuals may not recognize the decline in their mental acuity, particularly when their thought processes are compromised. This phenomenon explains how even individuals with high intellect can make very poor choices.
On this program, participants learn to recognize unhelpful thinking in self and others, and they acquire effective ways of restoring clarity. As a result, they become more proficient at thinking clearly, communicating effectively and making good decisions. This invariably leads to enhanced results across the board. Additional benefits of this program include better relationships, improved teamwork and an overall reduction in work stress.
To optimize outcomes, participants initially engage in a 2-day workshop, followed by practical application in their work environment. They reconvene several weeks later for a 1-day session at which they reflect on their experiences, deepen comprehension, and advance their abilities.
